Woman freed after allegedly being held at knife-point in Brisbane

A dramatic police stand-off has shut down part of Sunnybank Hills in Brisbane after a woman was allegedly being held at knife-point by a man inside a home. A 26-year-old woman was rescued by police after being held at knife point in her home in Queensland, Australia. The perpetrator, a 25-year-old man known to her, was taken away into custody.

The incident began when police were called to the Sunnybank Hills residence following a welfare check. Upon arrival, they discovered the woman had been held against her will and dragged into the bathroom of the home.

Police negotiated with the man for four hours before storming into the bathroom and rescuing the woman. After being freed from captivity, she was brought to safety and is now receiving medical attention.
