The latest tech innovations from the Consumer Electronics Show 2023

Smart Home Solutions Showcased at CES 2023

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 is a sight to behold. The show showcased the latest in smart home solutions that have been developed to make life easier and more comfortable for us. From voice-activated virtual assistants to automated cleaning robots, the show had something for everyone.

Smart home technology has been quite common at CES for the past ten years or so. This is still the case in 2023, with the customary deluge of new device releases from both major and minor firms (plus some weird and wonderful ones).

But the Las Vegas crop this year has something else:

Support for Matter, a recently released, open-source smart home standard that combines compatibility with Samsung SmartThings, Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home into a single wireless protocol. In other words, Matter-compatible devices ought should be compatible with practically anything, and at CES, a wide variety of new devices are making precisely that claim.

Bespoke Samsung Kitchen Appliances

The new Bespoke line’s Bespoke AI Wall Oven from Samsung has an integrated camera that can post pictures and videos of your meals to social media as it cooks. Additionally, if your meal is about to burn, it will email you alerts. It is AI-trained to identify and suggest cooking times and temperatures for 80 different foods (and 106 in Europe).

Three Bespoke refrigerators were also unveiled by Samsung, including a 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with a 32-inch touchscreen on the upper right door and an internal camera that lets you see what’s inside your fridge without opening the door. The touchscreen can also be used as a communication and entertainment hub, to display images or manage many apps at once, according to Samsung

Ring Car Cam

The newest smart home device from Ring is a camera, but it’s not one you’ll instal on or in your house. Instead, it’s a dashcam dubbed the Ring Car Cam that claims to monitor activities inside and outside of your car.

When you park within the range of your home’s Wi-Fi network, it can upload motion-activated recordings from the dual-facing cameras, and you can then see that footage directly from the Ring app thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi.

Simply saying “Alexa, record” will cause it to begin recording for a few minutes’ worth of film.

Robot Vacs From The Roborock S8 Series

At CES this year, Roborock, a well-known manufacturer of robot vacuums, unveiled new models, including its most potent model ever. The S7 series was followed by the Roborock S8 series. The Roborock robot vacuums in the S8 series contain 6,000 Pascals of suction, the largest number yet, and a second rubber brush for greater sweeping.

They clean your home more quickly by mapping it and vacuuming, mopping, avoiding obstructions, identifying carpet, and raising their mops to keep them dry. The innovative RockDock Ultra docking system, which cleans and dries the mop to prevent mould formation, and an extra mopping pad are also included with the S8 Ultra Pro vacuum.

One of the most exciting products showcased at previous CES was a voice-activated virtual assistant called “Alexa”. Alexa can be used to control lights, appliances, and even security systems around your home. It can also be used to play music, set reminders, and answer questions. With Alexa’s help, you can customize your home environment with ease.

Another amazing product showcased at previous year’s shows was an automated cleaning robot called “Roomba”. Roomba is designed to navigate around your home and clean it without any manual intervention from you. It is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology that enables it to detect dirt particles as small as 0.3 microns in diameter! Roomba also features obstacle avoidance technology so it won’t bump into objects or furniture while cleaning your home.
