5G technology is the latest step in Australians’ access to the internet and Telcos are encouraging Queenslanders to make the switch. 5G offers faster download speeds, lower latency and higher capacity, with some providers cheaper than NBN connections. End-users are likely to experience better coverage in areas with dense terrain or where NBN infrastructure is not available. Some regional areas able to take advantage of the service may finally have access to high-speed internet which until now has only been available in larger cities. With the potential for significantly reduced latency, greater data speeds and improved reliability, switching over to 5G can be a great decision for many Queensland households.
