Slain police officers farewelled in public memorial

The nation has farewelled the two police officers killed in last week’s deadly ambush near Chinchilla in southern Queensland. Heartbreaking tributes are heard at the Queensland police monument for deceased officers Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold. The killing of the Queensland police officer in an ambush in Wieambilla, will forevey haunt me according to a coworker and close friend of Rachel McCrow.The young constable and her partner Matthew Arnold, who were shot dead alongside citizen Alan Dare in the event in the rural Western Downs region on December 12, are receiving heartbreaking tributes at a public monument. A family friend named Laura Harriss described Arnold as a leader who was happy to be a police officer.

In between being hugged by coworkers at the beginning of the service, Keely Brough, one of the police officers who survived being shot at by assassins Nathaniel Train, Gareth Train, and Stacey Train, wiped away tears.
