Queensland woman loses her finger trying to escape from alleged car theft

An Australian woman fleeing the scene of an alleged attempted robbery has left some compelling evidence behind, her left thumb. It was torn off when her partner’s stolen motorcycle sideswiped a metal bollard leaving a trail of oil and blood.

In a dramatic escape attempt, an alleged criminal left behind more than expected: her severed thumb! Police were able to trace the evidence back to when her partner’s stolen motorcycle collided with a metal bollard in its daring getaway. A trail of oil and blood was all that remained after this harrowing ordeal.

The incident was being recorded by the tradie victim as he confronted the alleged thieves, who then filmed the two riding off on the motorcycle after the altercation. Dramatic video then captures the bike skidding along the sidewalk and slamming into railings along the footpath.

As the woman was going back on the motorcycle with the man, the victim tradie, David Brain, can he heard offering a first aid kit to help the woman as she managed to sever her thumb during the event. She is seen grasping her arm, her hand covered in blood.

She was later discovered on a roadway and transported to a hospital where she is currently recuperating. The male suspect is a known person to the authorities, according to Queensland Police, and further investigation is being done.The woman is still in the hospital.
