The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has ushered in a new era of transparency and inclusivity by opening its doors to the public. The move, which took place on July 15, is part of an initiative to showcase the wide array of careers available within the service.
In an event that aimed to demystify the inner workings of the police force, the QPS invited prospective applicants and curious citizens to explore their facilities and learn more about the various roles within the organisation. “Preserving peace and good order in all areas of Queensland is our primary role,” said a QPS spokesperson. “But it’s important to know that this job is carried out by a team with a myriad of different skills and backgrounds.”

On the financial side, a first-year constable can expect a starting salary of $84,999 per annum. This figure includes a 21% Operational Shift Allowance, paid to employees who participate equitably in a two or three-shift roster over seven days per week.
