Some scientists are warning that global warming could be headed for a crucial tipping point – and carbon dioxide is not the only culprit. In recent years, there’s also been a surge in the release of methane into the atmosphere – most of it due to natural causes.

This week, Australia signalled it will join an effort to cap methane emissions agreed to at the last global climate change conference. Ellen Coulter reports.
