Man pries open crocodile’s jaws to release his head

In the fifth crocodile attack in the past two months, a 51-year-old Queensland man was forced to pry open the monster’s jaw to free his head and escape with no life-threatening injuries.

Crocodile Attack Leaves Man Injured in Far North Queensland

A man was left injured after a crocodile attack off the coast of Far North Queensland on Thursday. The victim was snorkeling at the exclusive Haggerston Island resort when he was attacked by the crocodile.

He had been visiting the island with his family for a vacation and decided to go snorkeling alone. Little did he know that this would be a decision that would change his life forever.

Crocodile attacks are not uncommon in Australia, especially in areas where large crocodiles are native and human populations live. It has been estimated that about 1,000 people are attacked by crocodiles every year, with around one-third of those attacks resulting in fatalities.

“I heard a loud splash behind me and before I knew it, I felt an immense pressure on my head,” said the victim. “The next thing I knew, I was being dragged underwater by the crocodile.”

Fortunately this quick thinking enabled him to pry open the jaws of the crocodile and free himself from its grip. After being rescued by local authorities, he was taken to hospital where he is currently recovering from his injuries.

The incident has sparked calls for action from community members and officials to take measures to curb further crocodile attack incidents, such as enhanced warning systems or crocodile removal strategies.
