Flash Flooding Hits Northern Brisbane, More Rainfall Predicted
A severe flash flooding event has struck parts of Queensland, with areas north of Brisbane being particularly affected. The region is also bracing for a severe-to-extreme heatwave, with more rainfall predicted in the coming days.
According to Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) senior meteorologist Felim Hanniffy, areas such as Warner, located north of Brisbane, and regions to the north-west have received significant rainfall. In some areas, rainfalls of up to 150 millimeters have been recorded, leading to widespread flooding.
The BOM’s warning comes as the region prepares for a severe-to-extreme heatwave, which is expected to bring further extreme weather conditions. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and monitor weather updates for the latest information.
