Federal government announces inquiry into childcare costs | 7NEWS

A 12-month ACCC inquiry into the rising cost of childcare will begin in January next year, the federal government has announced.

“When the cost of childcare is such an important element in people’s decisions about how much they work and how much they earn, we want to make sure that the pricing structures are right.” – Treasurer Jim Chalmers.

“For a lot of parents – in particular, mums – the cost of going back to work is too high. It costs more to go back to work if you’ve got your child in care.” – Education Minister Jason Clare.
