Victorians are being warned to prepare for the state’s most significant weather event of the year, with heavy rain set to hit on Wednesday though to Friday. Some regional communities have been warned they could face up to 72 hours of isolation, with brim-full catchments ready to spill into floods. Up to 100mm of rain could fall in some areas north of the Great Dividing Range, and up to 50mm in Melbourne. Wind gusts of 100km/hr are also forecast.
