Australian households will soon receive an energy rebate in a bid by the federal government to provide temporary relief for soaring power prices. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met virtually with premiers and chief ministers for national cabinet on Friday, where they thrashed out a plan to provide struggling families with temporary cost relief.
“The commonwealth will provide up to $1.5 billion to provide support for households and also small businesses. This will be paid through state governments by reducing people’s bills.”

On Friday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese electronically convened with chief ministers and premiers for a national cabinet meeting where they worked out a strategy to temporarily reduce costs for suffering households.
Australians will experience the price relief through a decrease in their power bills. Depending on the state or territory a household resides in will determine the amount that household receives.
