We’ve seen them used in films, wars and even food delivery, but now drones could soon carry the vital pathology tests of Queenslanders.
The move is set to bust testing backlogs and return patients’ results quicker than ever.
Under a new partnership between Mater and Australian drone logistics company Swoop Aero, 10 drones will soon be shuttling pathology samples from the Moreton Bay islands to nearby testing labs. This innovative approach is expected reduce input time – including vital blood tests and COVID-19 swabs – by hours.
