Dog walkers warned of an alleged suspected baiting incident

Dog walkers are warned to be vigilant after a suspected baiting incident was caught on camera in South Yarra. Pet owner Chris Harding filmed the incident, shortly before his Beaglier became sick. The footage shows a small piece of meat being thrown onto the ground near where Mr Harding and his dog were walking. He has since reported the incident to police, who are now investigating.

Baiting incidents can be extremely dangerous for dogs, as they often contain poisoned food or objects that can cause serious harm or even death if ingested. It is important for dog owners and walkers to remain alert when out with their pets, and take steps to ensure their safety. This includes avoiding areas where baiting may occur, such as parks or wooded areas, and keeping an eye out for suspicious activity or objects on the ground. If you do come across anything that looks like it could be bait, do not touch it and contact your local authorities immediately.

It is also important to keep your pet on a leash at all times when walking them outside, so you can keep them away from any potential danger quickly and easily. By following these simple steps, we can help ensure our furry friends stay safe while out enjoying some fresh air!
