Colin Munro joins the Brisbane Heat for BBL

Colin Munro has arrived in Brisbane to join the Heat’s campaign for BBL|12. The Kiwi International is one of seven faces added to a new look line-up. With 357 T20 and T10 games under his belt, the talented left-hander is the most experienced new signing, but he’s the first to admit he’s no Chris Lynn.

“If I can have half of his runs at the Gabba that would be awesome, he’s been exceptional for the Heat for a long period of time.”

The Heat start their season against the Melbourne Renegades in Cairns next Thursday, live and free on Channel 7.

Munro has participated in 357 T20 matches and amassed 8917 runs in a number of leagues. He has also got a half-century for New Zealand against Sri Lanka in just 14 balls. The Heat are hopeful that the 35-year-old, who recently signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the 2022–23 Big Bash season, can use his powerful hitting abilities to help the team.

England international Sam Billings is another of the Heat’s significant international additions this season. Before the BBL concludes, Billings and Munro will team up with the Desert Vipers in the new International League T20 (ILT20) in the UAE. When Munro and Billings travel for the UAE, the Heat will be hoping that Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne can step in and fill the void.
